Privacy Policy — iOS App

Your screenshots, dictation, GitHub token, and AI key are stored on your device and sent only to the services you use — GitHub, Apple for dictation, and Anthropic if you enable the AI agent — never to us. Here's exactly what the Vox Issue iOS app does and doesn't touch.

Tiny Electrons LLC ("Vox Issue", "we", "us") built the Vox Issue iOS app to turn screenshots of your web app into GitHub issues. This policy explains what we process, why, and the choices you have. The iOS app is designed so your data stays on your device and in the services you connect — we run no servers for the app and there is no in-app purchase or account with us.

Data we process

Stays on your device

  • Screenshots & captures. The app captures only the web pages it loads in its own in-app browser (a WKWebView). It cannot and does not capture other apps, your home screen, or the device screen — iOS does not permit it, and the app uses no screen-recording APIs.
  • Dictation and notes you record for each screenshot.
  • Markup, tags, and project settings, including any auto-capture URL list you configure (see below).

Sent to services you connect (with your own credentials)

  • GitHub. When you file or sync issues, screenshots, titles, descriptions, labels, and project-field values are sent to the GitHub repositories you choose, using the access token you provide. Your token is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and is never sent to us.
  • AI coding agent (optional, your own key). If you connect your own Anthropic API key, the app can ask Anthropic's cloud coding agent to work on your GitHub issues. When you run it, the app sends the issue text and prompt — and your GitHub token so the agent can access the repo — to Anthropic. It does not send your screenshots or images to Anthropic. Your Anthropic key is stored in the iOS Keychain and billed to your own Anthropic account. This feature is off until you add a key.

We do not collect

  • We do not run analytics or advertising SDKs in the app, and we do not sell personal information.
  • We do not receive your screenshots, notes, GitHub token, or AI key on our own servers. The iOS app has no first-party backend, no account, and no in-app purchase.

Auto-capture

You can define a list of URLs for a project and run an automatic capture pass: the app loads each page in its in-app browser and takes a series of snapshots of that page. This runs only while you start and keep a capture session open — there is no background timer or schedule that captures on its own, and it only ever captures pages the app itself loads. You choose the URLs, and you can edit or clear the list at any time.

Microphone & speech

Vox Issue requests microphone and speech-recognition permission so you can dictate what's wrong with a screenshot. Transcription uses Apple's built-in Speech framework. Depending on your device, language, and iOS version, Apple may perform this transcription on-device or on Apple's servers under Apple's privacy policy; the transcript is not sent to Vox Issue's servers. The resulting text is included in the GitHub issues you file. You can revoke microphone and speech permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Sharing & sub-processors

Your content flows only to the services you connect, at your direction:

  • GitHub — where your issues and screenshots are filed, under GitHub's privacy statement.
  • Anthropic — only if you enable the AI agent with your own key; receives issue text and your GitHub token, not images, under Anthropic's commercial terms (API inputs are not used to train their models).
  • Apple — may process dictation audio via the Speech framework, as above.
  • Amazon Web Services — hosts voxissue.com and processes messages sent through our contact form (see below). It receives nothing from the app.

We use no other processors for in-app content, and the app sends nothing to any Vox Issue server.

Website contact form

This section is about voxissue.com, not the app. Everything above still holds for the app itself: it has no backend of ours and sends us nothing.

If you send us a message through our contact page, the name, email address, subject and message you type are processed on infrastructure we run on Amazon Web Services in the United States. The message is stored in a database (Amazon DynamoDB) and emailed to us through Amazon SES so that we can reply. We use it only to answer you — not for marketing, and we do not sell it.

Submissions are deleted automatically 60 days after we receive them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at privacy@voxissue.com. You never have to use the form: emailing hello@voxissue.com reaches the same inbox.

Data retention & deletion

Because your data lives on your device and in your GitHub, you control retention. Deleting the app removes local data (including keys held in the Keychain); deleting issues or repositories in GitHub removes what was filed there. Apart from a message you choose to send us through the contact form described above, we hold no data about you on our servers, so there is otherwise nothing for us to delete on our side.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since the iOS app holds no personal data of yours on our servers, most requests are satisfied on-device or via GitHub. For anything else, contact us at privacy@voxissue.com.

Children

Vox Issue is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 13.
